The M1A

As the Art of War has progressed, the battle rifle of yesteryear often has become the sniper rifle of the next generation. That was the case with the 1903 and later, with the M-14. The M1A is the civilian version of the M-14. Nearly everything is the same except it does not have the parts for full auto.

Springfield armory developed an offset scope mount for the M-14. It is hammer fitted and is intended to remain with the rifle. It an be removed and remounted for cleaning and is supposed to retain its set.
