For our Soldiers

Many of you have never served in the military, and among those of us who have, only a small percentage know what it is like to be away from family friends and loved ones, stuck in some GOD forsaken place fighting a war that at times seems remote and distant. My thanks go out tonight to our service men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, and all the other places that duty calls. You are keeping us safe, confounding our enemies, and risking a precious national resource, your lives, and I thank you. This song was written in the 1960's by another soldier in another war in another land. The words he wrote then are still true today.

I also want to extend my heart felt sympathy to the families who lost loved ones in the helio shoot down. May GOD comfort you in this your hour of need.
