Congrats Sal!

Salvatore Giunta is America's most recent recipient of the Medal of Honor. Congratulations to you Sergeant Giunta. SSG Giunta hails from Hiawatha Iowa, and being your typical Idiot Out Wandering Around, did not think of the personal consequences when his unit was ambushed in Afghanistan. He risks death or serious injury to prevent the capture of a wounded member of his platoon, rendered aid after saving the soldier, worked to inspire his fellow soldiers to fight and crush the ambushers who attacked them.
The Army has seen fit to promote this highly decorated "idiot" to Staff Sergeant.
I am ashamed of the military over this. Not for giving this to Sal, he deserves it and our gratitude as a nation, but that no other living person has been awarded it since the Vietnam tragedy. Our military has many heroes who have risked life and limb for their fellow soldiers and this great country. Let us hope that commanders take the time to review the acts of heroism like Sal's and honor those who have shown courage under fire as Sal has.
Sal, if you ever get stuck at Ft Riley Kansas, I will gladly treat you to a steak dinner. May GOD richly bless you and your family.
