As for the Gallop Asian Bistro, if they cannot confirm whether a tip was received on a credit card, maybe they shouldn't be processing the darn things. Seriously, its a simple procedure, you check the receipt, and the card transaction. If the card transaction is less then the receipt, the customer owes money. If the figure is greater, that's what you pay the employee as a tip, and the tip amount should match the figure on the tip line. If those folks were in aerospace, we'd still not have a man orbiting the earth.
