No, I'm not dead

I just needed some time off for other things. I'm more or less back.
Hope every one had a merry Christmas, and wish you all a happy new year.

Four officers slain.

By now you have read about this in articles from American Pravda, so I won't bother giving them a link.
We know that four officers who had just started their shift were murdered. This was not an execution style hit, executions are done by binding the guys hands, standing him in front of a wall, giving him one last smoke, a blindfold, and then three to six guys pump high powered rifle rounds into his chest. These officers were anbushed, pure and simple. Maurice Clemmons, the suspected murderer is on the lam. he has a long and disgusting criminal carreer starting when he was a teenager.
In this country we have a juvenile justice system, it is a joke. We should confine crimes to the juvenile justice system that are age specific, such as runaways and teens in possession of alcohol. The ones who rob rape and murder should be tried in the regular court system regardless of when they did the crime. its true a small child does not understand the ramifications of killing someone, and that should be an acceptable defense just as is used for mentally handicapped criminals. If a thirteen year old is stealing, it is often because his parents have not gotten him on the right path. he needs to be dealt with accordingly.
I don't favor long sentences. They are a waste of time and money. Prisons should be harsh, as bad as the worst living conditions people can experience in America, or for that matter, the world. No TV, no radio, one book as long as it is a text from an established religion. No exercise rooms, and limited space. My idea is a space requirement of about 200 cubic feet per criminal. So a cell measuring 12X12 1/2 X 8 ft high would be able to house six prisoners. Set a height limit also of eight feet, so even if the cell had a ten foot ceiling it would not matter. two bunks in the cell would be enough, they can hot rack just like our submariners do.
Set a maximum of twenty years for any single crime, and also a max of twenty five years for any individual. Seems low? Not really. If it would take more then that to adequately punish them, then execute them. The constitution has prohibitions against cruel and unusual punishments. Note first, the word and. It means that both items need to be true. The courts seem to miss that point, and judges who cannot grasp that need not be judges. So, make harsh sentences the norm, and the second stipulation goes away. Punish judges who want to coddle scumbags. Congress, not the courts should determine what is cruel. In my opinion, locking some guy up for life is cruel. All he is at that point is a caged animal. The criminal has no reason to rehabilitate himself, so we need to give him one. Make mandatory the execution of all repeat, ALL third time offenders.
It doesn't necessarily need to be public, but I feel that prisoners should have to watch at least one execution to impress to them that they need to clean up their act.
Prisons seem to have a riot problem when they crack down. make participation in a riot a mandatory hanging offense. Make it a capital crime for any judge to waive that stipulation, meaning that any judge who refuses to sentence a criminal to death when it is required would also be executed.
For rioters, do not use the English long drop method. Render their hands useless, either by smashing them, or wrapping them. place the noose arround their neck, then raise them to a point where they just barely contact the floor. Then remove the bindings from their hands and feet. That way, the other prisoners will get the hint that this is not a good way to die.
I do not want scum like Maurice Clemmons pardoned or paroled. By the time he was eighteen, he was at the point where he was beyond redemption as far as I can see. Huckster should never have commuted his sentence. Hind site is twenty twenty on that. Unfortunately, the time Maurice Clemmons served is about normal for criminals who did what he did. In fact, murderers often serve less time then he did.
As far as I'm concerned, the following offenses should merit death,
Murder whether first or second degree. I don't care if you call it manslaughter, its murder in my book.
Any death that happens as the result of any other crime. I don't care if it was a fellow criminal killed by the police or the intended victim.
Any rape which is not date rape. I make a slight distinction here because its possible that it is buyers remorse, but if a date rape drug is used, hang em.
Any molestation of a child where it can be proven that the adult knew the actual age of the child, or that the child was under sixteen years of age. I make that distinction because some kids look and act older then they are. When a thirteen year old is hanging out in a bar, as far as I'm concerned, it should not be a crime if an adult has sex with them.
Any third felony offense. I'm not wanting to execute folks for three shop lifting convictions, but rather for their refusal to conduct themselves with in the norms of society.
Any riot while in prison, or a second escape from custody. If they are that unwilling to accept responsibility for their behavior, they need to be removed from society. As far as I'm concerned, any assault on a prison guard is the same as rioting, and any assualt on another prisoner.
Any act by any person whether a civilian or police officer to falsely convict anyone of a capital crime. That means any person who makes a false accusation such as a false report of rape, any officer or prosecuter who plants or falsifies evidence.
The last thing I would like to see happen is a requirement to streamline all appeals. We need to get them from court room to grave in under eighteen months. The execution needs to happen while the crime is still fresh in peoples minds.
We also need to be open to findings of innocence no matter when they discover the travesty. For that reason the appeals process should start with a lie detector test for the convicted. If there is any question as to evidence or data, put the officers through a lie detector as well.
We can fix our criminal justice system. The degradation of our society has proven beyond a shadow of doubt that coddeling criminals leads to worse behavior.

Rednecks n' doctors

A redneck went to an extremely attractive female doctor today for a checkup. She told him that he had to quit masturbating. When he  asked why and she told him" Because I am trying to examine you."

A rednecks girlfriend was in labor with their first child. She was shouting out "get this out of me! Give me the drugs". She looked at him and said, "You did this to me you bastard!," the redneck casually replied, "If you would care to remember, I wanted to stick it up your ass but you said "it'll be too painful."

Give me Liberty

Or at least, give me a Liberty 100. The Liberty, produced by Calico Arms (California Instrument Company) is one fine carbine. Chambered in 9mm, and also offered in a 22LR rimfire, this is an above grade gun for military or police use. Calico first developed their fine line in the 1980's, before the insult weapons ban. No misspelling either, all it did was make a bunch of crap polyticks feel good. That congressional act almost ruined the company by eliminating the civilian market. The calico is revolutionary. It has a top mounted helical magazine in either 50 or 100 round versions. The mag is loaded, then charged by cranking the handle at the rear. It has bottom ejection for easy policing of brass, and also eliminates the pesky hot cartridge down the collar for left handed situations. Yes, I said left handed situations not shooters. I'll talk more about that later.

The Calico line of 9mm weapons uses a roller delayed block blowback system. Two links pivot out to secure the bolt in place while firing, then slip back once chamber pressure drops. It is an excellent system and is used on H&K submachine guns as well as others. It has a good ergo grip and is angled nicely like our AR-15 M-4 arms.

A nonmoving rear sight is built into the magazine, and all adjustments are made at the front sight which is at the front of the mag. This is a slight problem as it limits your sight radius, but it also protects the sight from potential damage when carried in a vehicle. A scope mount is also available which fits on top of the mag. It somewhat impedes mag changes, but with a 100 round mag, how often is that a problem?

The Calico has several advantages over most carbines and subs I have fired. The design limits muzzle climb. If you look at the lines of any standard rifle, you will note that the line of the barrel is well above the line of the shooters arm. With the calico, the barrel and wrist align so that kick is directed back at the wrist rather then over it. That reduces twisting of the hand and therefore muzzle climb. This is important in full auto situations. Many years ago I had the opportunity to fire a M-951A full auto. It was like having a supersoaker that spit lead instead of water. That day fueled my desire to eventually own a Calico. Today, I own two.

A kelly grip is also optional and gives it that gangster look so many crave. The Liberty comes with either a fixed stock, or a collapsing stock. I have one of each. The collapsing stock has an extra long setting for folks with long arms. Original Calico's had an optional flash supressor muzzle arrestor, the current crop are straight barrel post ban style weapons.

Calico also produces a pistol version, the M-950 as well as the their M-100 22 carbine and M-110 22 pistol. They are a good solid gun in my opinion.

The company was originally headquartered in California, but wise hands shifted their base of operations to Hillsboro Oregon. Fruits, nuts and guns don't mix very well, and Cali's horrid treatment of companies, means that desertion is the game of the day if you want to thrive.

Regarding left handed shooting, I'm left handed. I principally shoot right handed as I have no eye dominance. It gives me the advantage of using all common fire arms, plus the benefit of having my strong arm supporting the muzzle. Only on the range can you be assured of control of your shooting stance. Whether hunting elk In the mountains, or bad guys on the streets of Afghanistan, there are times when the south paw stance is preferable. You may not be able to get into any other position without compromising your position, or you may have a shot that is so off balance that a left hand position is the only option. I can and do shoot both ways. Practice practice practice.

So what are you thankful for?

Its Thanks Giving. many people now call it Turkey Day so they can conveniently forget what it means to give thanks.
So, what is it?
I am thankful for climate gate. It shows the evil of data manipulation by those who would attempt to control and destroy us.
I am thankful for our constitution. It is battered and neglected, ignored by congress, courts and  the president, but still the law of the land.
I am thankful for our military. We are the land of the free because of them. No court, lawyer or politician did it, our sons and daughters in uniform DID.
I am thankful for our economy. Yes, it is battered and bruised by the recent events, but without its robust strength, and ability to recover, we would be in much worse shape.
I am grateful that the democrats have a strong majority in the house and a filabuster proof (ha) majority in the senate. They can own 2009, and 2010. I hope it leads to them never again having a majority anywhere.
I am grateful for the best medical care of any nation in the world. I hope I can say the same thing next year and in years to come. In other words, I hope their hellcare over haul fails. Yup, had to go see a doctor, first time in seven years. With GODs blessing it will be another seven.
I am grateful for my enemies. It makes my friends seem all the better. without those who hate me, I would dwell on the flaws of my friends rather then their strengths.
May each of you experience a blessed Thanks Giving. Be safe on black Friday.

Climategate, If you're not mad, you're not paying attention

Yes, I'm pissed. and for the last few days, I've been too pissed to write about this. Do you honestly think this is the end? get real. this is far from over, in fact, its never over, not until Armegeddon.
Let me give you an example to clarify. One word, Kinsey. When Alfred Kinsey released his reports beginning in 1948, they were jaw dropping. He was an eminent schollar who had studied the subject thoroughly though so no one dared to effectively question him. Sixty years later, we know it was bull crap start to finish, yet all follow on research has built on it making all the research total bullcrap. Unfortunately it is viewed as too extensive to scrap and start over. We are too deeply entrenched, never mind that its all going the wrong way and has effectively undermined American and frankly world culture.
Why should global garbage be any diffrent? Don't expect any thing to change. Nothing about this is going to change one bit. The media, fully in collusion with these folks is by and large ignoring everything. Think wizard of Oz, and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. Saddly, most people are gonna ignore the man behind the curtain because they fear change, or maybe its that they are so stupid as to believe that politicians actually care about the folks who elect them.
The movers and shakers of this world are the folks with tons of money. All they care about is making more of it, and control control control. Thats what its about, evil men with power. They don't care about you, they don't care about me. They are not benevolent or generous, just greedy. Men like George Soros and Al Gore, greedy, evil and without conscience. The sad fact is they are gonna win. Well, not really. I know, I read the book and know how it all ends.
A lot of folks are going to become just like lemmings. Well, not really like lemmings since that is myth and folklore, but more like a herd of buffalo stampeded off a cliff. The end result will be people who know better doing stupid stuff to their detriment because they have the mistaken notion that politicians will actually care about their constituants.
Don't believe it, not for a minute. Use your head, consult your Bible. Don't be deceived, even George and Al are tools of another evil master.

Lethal injection is too easy.

Thats not just my opinion, the man considered the father of lethal injection says so as well.

"Now Chapman, semiretired in California at age 70, said he believes the system he helped create shows condemned inmates too much mercy.

"Their death is made much too easy by this sort of protocol for the crimes that they committed," he told The Associated Press last week."

Thats what I say. I'm OK with it though because I know that they won't get it easy in the after life. A horriffic method would have them cringing and crying. they would turn to GOD and seek his face. So a humane method might very well condemn them to eternal hell.
GOD wants all men to be saved. his method of execution is barbaric. people the world over condemn Islam, but it comes from the very Bible many Christians ignore. People facing stoning turn to GOD. (Well, the islamofreaks turn to a pagan moon god.) remember, there is no god named allah, and Muhammed was a pedophile.

What we know, and what to do with it.

Many folks have been saying for years that man made global warming, AGW, was a hoax. The data has been in our favor for several years as well as long term research and studies. With the recent release of e-mails by a hacker, we now have a glimpse into what is going on. I believe it is only scratching the tip of the iceberg, but that just me.

Numerous people have come out with revelations regarding data errors and fudging in the past, and their cries have been shouted down by the AGW crowd. We have known for quite some time that it was a political movement disguised as environmentalism, but our efforts are getting scant attention in the media for obvious reasons, the same ones that prevented them from vetting Barry Soetoro. The media has been in the tank for socialism for decades. That has been clear to me since Carter was president.

We still have freedom of speech and the press even if the major media outlets are screaming socialistic values at the top of their lungs. They are not vast in number, even with the legions of people deceived by them they only mustered 53% in 2008. Keep in mind that a lot of conservatives sat this one out because of the lackluster candidate. John McCain was #9 on my list, but I sucked it up and voted for him in the general election.

Who makes up most of the left? That's an easy one. People who do not do real work for a living. I define real work as the stuff that adds value, or gross domestic product. Breaking that down, we see several types, Welfare slugs are the first. They are not as numerous as we would believe, but still they are a factor. Many of them are too lazy to vote, but in corrupt regions, some one makes sure they get a ballot in the box even if the slug never touched it.

Academia is next. I'm not trying to say that college professors and researchers are not important, but most if not nearly all of them have no grasp on reality. Many of them have never worked out in the real world. I remember on civil engineering student who showed me that he had more field experience then the instructors to the point that he knew the realities of the subject matter better then his profs, and clearly better then the maroon who wrote the book.

Entertainment is a big problem as well. Whether its actors, or sports, they are over paid fluff. When the chips are down, and times are hard, why do we need more entertainment? What sucks is that working folks who are idled often get a movie or take in a sports event to fill their time, further harming our economy by feeding these suckers. You can tack news commentators and their kind onto this group also. They serve a purpose, but they are over paid, over hyped, and clueless shits.

Liars err lawyers. Group politicians into this subspecies. These assholes think they are the cats meow, when truth be told they came out the other end. Sure the first thing they saw was the cats face, but that's only because he was sniffing his turd. What of value do politicians burrocraps and that type do to fuel our economy? Nothing. They are an anchor dragging in the muck slowing recovery, keeping us bogged down and preventing growth in the private sector.

Now we have climategate. What a collaboration of garbage! The academia did yeoman duty building this crap sandwich. The politicians funded it with OUR money. The media and entertainment industry jumped on ht bandwagon as pitchmen for this endeavor, and we got screwed.

Its time for a serious house cleaning. We need to start with 2010 and pitch the politicians out. I say every one of em. When in doubt throw em out, and today there is no doubt.

One we have resecured the halls of congress, the next step is the courts. Clean house. Every liberal judge needs to go under the microscope, and toss the conservative ones under for good measure. Currently ten of thirteen appeals courts have majorities appointed by a conservative president. No real shock, with an advantage of thirteen to twenty in terms of control of the white house, that is to be expected. But is that a measure of conservatism on the part of the court? From my observations, even conservative lawyers tend to be more liberal then the average republican. They also tend to be more accepting of things we find intolerable, hence their inclination to negotiate.

Keep in mind that every appointee has to pass senate confirmation, and appointments by Bush Sr. were limited by a liberal senate. Also it is normal to consult with the senators and representatives when making appointments to courts in their bail wick. For that reason the California court is the most left leaning whacky bunch of ass wipes on planet earth. Three of its current judges are Carter survivors, two appointed by Reagan, two by Bush Sr., thirteen by Clinton, and seven by GW Bush. Senior judges include one by Kennedy, two by Nixon, eight by Carter, six by Reagan, two by Bush Sr., and one by Clinton for an over all configuration of twenty six to twenty one, or thirty two to fifteen When senate influence is accounted for. With those kinds of numbers is it any wonder that California and the west coast is in such poor condition?

We need to clean up the judiciary, pure and simple.

The next and most important step though is to permanently defund all academic organizations that participated in the fraud of global warming. Turn off the spigot, and fasten a lock on it for all time. Tie funding to the folks who perpetuated this fraud as well as the organizations. It is no good to cut funding to one university only to have the scoundrels move to an institution that is funded and continue to pilfer the public treasury with intent to destroy our nation.

Defund also the arts. Public funding for this affront and nuisance is an insult to the nation. If the artists produce material worthy of mention and acclaim, individuals will be happy to step up and drop a dollar into the hat. Hell, even Chuck Johnson gets hits, and his photography is at the lower limit of piss poor and ugly. Private funding has kept him afloat.

The fact is we need to act. This administration has sold us out. The stimuless garbage has increased our debt to China, and when they call the markers, it won't be pretty. The time to act is now.

Update on KSM

Or at least on my thoughts regarding him and a fair trial. According to the constitution, he is entitled to a trial by a jury of his peers. They need to move the trial to Chicago and put William Ayers on the jury. Bernardine Dohrn would be juror #2. Do we have any other unrepentant terrorists to fill out the pool?

World polution on the rise? Thanks Al

Follow the money, and look at the facts. Lets start with the money. Barry Soetoro has embarked on a massive spending binge and it is being funded by China. America has borrowed more cash in the last nine months then at any time in our history, and it has come from China. Traditionally communist countries are cash strapped with weak economies. That is not the case with China. Thanks to American spending and investment, the nation is flush with cash. Kyoto further fueled their economy. When the lies about global warming were being spread, China and India were given a by on ecological controls. They are the worst polluters on the planet. They have not improved on their record.

Cheap occurs several ways. Low pay for workers? Check. American unions have forced prices here through the roof and beyond the clouds, but that is not the case in China where the meager pay makes our poverty level look like a kings wage.

Low quality? Check. It has much improved in recent years, but Chinese made products are still low quality compared to the stuff made here at home.

Technology? Check. Whereas western companies invested in research and development, the Chinese got most of theirs by theft. In some cases western companies have built in China and the tech has wandered about, but in many cases it has been stolen. That is especially frightening in cases of military tech which have come to light. We know a lot was lost during the Clinton years, but how that trend continued after 9-11 is quite murky. Our focus has been on the war on Islamic terror, not on industrial espionage. So the hard work of American business is now feeding our competition for free.

Economic controls? Check. We are in a recession and yet greenhouse gasses are on the rise. Now, I'm not into the global warming BS, never have been. Its not about that even though it is the main subject of the referenced article from today's noise err news. American and western European factories have had the best pollution control in the world for years. When smog became a concern, the companies responded to public pressure and made vast improvements. But that is not the only stuff that got corrected. Many chemical processes created pollutants that damaged streams and ground water. In some cases pollutants were unknowingly dumped onto roads as was the case at Love Canal, and leeched into the ground water. Over time, we learned. Many chemicals once thought harmless are quite deadly. PCBs, trichlorathane and asbestos just to name a few.

China is becoming the world leader in photo cell production. Their product sells well below the market cost for German made cells. Why? Germany has pollution controls in place that are costing millions and driving the prices. China does not. Germany's controls are not a bad thing. The silicon byproduct is a hazard. If dumped into a stream, it kills everything. When dumped on land it creates a dead zone and leaches into the ground water. China dumps the stuff by the truckload onto farm fields and rice paddies.

The Chinese are suffering from this. No one cares. China is over populated. They have had a one child policy in place for decades. They have slaughtered babies by the score through forced abortions. Its no secret, they do not value life. We do. Or at least we should.

Kyoto needs to be scrapped. The whole idea of global warming needs to be tossed away. Its a lie, we know its a lie. Even Al Gore knows its bullshit, look at how the useless turd lives. We need to limit real polluters such as PCBs. Carbon dioxide is plant food.

Death Penalty Redneck Style

If you are expecting a joke, this isn't. Kansas was recently host to a former Texas Prosecutor who is speaking out against capital punishment. Kansas, like Texas, has the death penalty. Unlike Texas we have yet to actually use it. The wheels of justice turn slow, that's for sure. Sometimes it seems they are stuck in a rut. Cases can drag on for years, and it is sometimes said the condemned has a greater chance of passing from old age then of being executed.

That is not justice. Justice delayed is justice denied. Some claim that there is no deterrent in the death penalty, yet studies commissioned by the opponents of capital punishment clearly show that swift executions bring deterrent, and that the longer the delay between conviction and execution, the less deterrent effect. Its like having chemo for cancer, the sooner the treatment is begun, the better the chance of success.

We have to balance that against the possibility of a wrongful execution. Evidence presented in several cases has resulted in findings that people on death row were in fact innocent. I'm not referring to procedural errors resulting in a guilty mans conviction being thrown out, I mean real innocent people who had their lives sworn away because some body lied or made a mistake.

Mistakes happen, that's life. Its what we do when we realize a mistake that makes the difference. I do not ever want to see an innocent man executed. It has happened, it will happen. When it is because of error as in the convicted bore a strong resemblance to the real perp, its understandable. That does not make it right.

Some folks advocate for a death penalty review board. Form a panel of three judges and give them a staff of investigators and review all the evidence in the case. Then with in one year render judgment. I agree with that idea. I'll take it a little further though. At trial a defendant has the right to remain silent. On appeals that right should be negated. The convicted of all people knows the truth. We have lie detection equipment that is state of the art. lets put it to good use. The condemned can be closely interviewed on multiple occasions to determine whether they are telling the truth. Use lie detection on the witnesses as well.

If a witness is found to lie, deal with them in the same manner as the perp. Since this is a capital murder case, any lie would be an attempt at murder, nothing less. Prosecutors in this country presently have immunity for their actions in court. Strip that away. the purpose of a prosecutor is to obtain the truth, not notch their belt. A prosecutor who would suborn perjury is lower then a snake. They, as much as the worst felon need to be executed.
So, now we have determined that our perp is indeed guilty as hell, what to do? How to execute him? I'm not in favor of lethal injection unless it is done with a 30 caliber rifle, but I also see a place for it. Allow the condemend a choice. They may waive appeal and select lethal injection immediately. By immediately I mean it would be done in the chamber next to the court room and with in twenty four hours of conviction.
All other executions should be done in a manner that closely resembles the method the perp used in his crime with a fall back method being hanging. Death by strangulation takes only about five minutes, so it is not going to be anything like what most victims had to endure.
Conduct the executions at the prison and either in full view of the convicts, or video feed it into their cells. Give them a reminder that lives of crime will be short ones.
As for other sentencing, I am in favor of shorter sentences. Make the prisons harsh, worse then the wost slum in the nation. Limit sentences to a max of twenty years per offense, or twenty five life time. Anything more then that is a total waste of tax dollars, and the perp just needs to die. Execute threepeat offenders as well. If they want to be part of society, they will reform after the second, and hopefully after the first.
Limit probation to a one time deal, and it remains on your record for life because it can only be offered one time. Determine prison population with a simple formula, 200 cubic feet of space per prisoner with an implied maximum ceiling of eight feet. by that I mean that if a cell has a seven foot ceiling, it is measured as seven feet, but if the cell ceiling is nine feet, it is measured as eight. So a cell measuring 12X12.5X8 could house six convicts. Overcrowding? Bullshit. Our submariners live in far more cramped conditions, and they deserve better then the convicts. two bunks, and they can sleep in shifts. afix arm bands to the perp, red, blue or yellow to determine who sleeps when.
The constitution says cruel and unusual. remind judges about what the word A-N-D means. Make punishments uniform swift and sure.

Tools

A gun is just a tool. It can be a very dangerous tool when used improperly, but its still just a tool. A circular saw or pneumatic nailer can be just as harmful when treated as a toy.

Lets move on.

When you select a tool, you try to get the best fit for the job at hand. One would not want a tack hammer for building a pole barn, nor a 28 oz deathstick for furniture. Likewise with firearms. Chose what you need for the job.

Rather then feature a gun tonight, I instead chose to feature a tool from yesteryear. Tonight we have a bullet mold. This jewel is a .64 caliber mold from the civil war era. It has been in my family that entire time. The slugs are a bit newer, I made them on the kitchen stove using the mold. They still need a little work. Some smoothing to eliminate the sprue is needed in order for them to fly straight. I have used these in everything from slingshots to shotguns. They are a nice fit for a 20ga.

So what purpose would something like this serve today? The answer is simple, survival. We don't know what tomorrow holds. Last week the news featured an asteroid that missed earth my only a few thousand miles. Such a strike would radically change the dynamic of our lives. It could disrupt our power grid, and even collapse the fragile world economy. In such a scenario we would be totally on our own. If you don't have the tools to survive, you won't survive. Its that simple.

How many of you could make your own gun powder? I'm sure some of the older crowd remember the startek episode where Kirk makes a weapon to battle an alien. He used a chunk of bamboo for a barrel, rough diamonds for his shot. He made black powder by combining saltpeter, charcoal and sulfur. Mixing the stuff though is not as easy as it looks. Its actually quite an art, and extremely dangerous. It may be the ticket to living in a world gone wild.

So what do you have in your bad day kit? The knowledge in your head will be as important as the gear you pack. Give a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life. Plan ahead, survive for life.

As the circus turns

Well, thats exactly what this has become, the decision to move the trial of  Kaleed Shaek Muhamed to New York is a cruel joke. That the man cannot get a fair trial in NYC should be a forgone conclusion. That emotions against him will run high should be as well.
The first question that needs to be addressed is were his acts a crime or acts of war? It should be obvious to everyone that this does not fall into the realm of criminal behavior unless the term war crime is attached, because that is exactly what it was. The motivations behind this were political in nature. This was not an attempt to extort money, it was an attack based on our having troops in Saudi Arabia, and the US failures in diplomacy regarding muslim fighters in Afghanistan. It runs deeper, a lot deeper, but none of that changes it into a criminal act alone.
The second question is, since this was an act of war, is there any justification in using a civilian court? I would say no. I have lost faith in our justice system. I know it is the best in the world, yet its flaws are being leveraged by corrupt lawyers to seriously harm our nation. The question should ultimately turn on guilt or innocense, yet too often it becomes a matter of a dull jury with little interest in true justice, but rather one with an agenda who have been cherry picked by the lawyers.
Juries are flawed. I do not want to do away with our system, I want to fix it. If a person is dismissed from jury duty for anything ther than a direst conflict, as in knowledge that would prevent impartiality, they should loses voting privledges for ten years.
Another problem is civil rights at trial. When a suspects rights are violated, the offending officer should be punished, not the nation. Bad DA's, corrupt cops, those are the ones who should be punished, but instead a perp gets to walk and the coruptocrats go on like nothing happened.
I would put KSM in front of a military tribunal. The decisions are made by professional officers not easily swayed by emotions. After he is found guilty, he should be executed in the most undignified way possible. Yup, pig blood bath for this cocksucker, then kill him.

A medical W T F

Estimates are that 2266 vets died last year from lack of medical coverage. Where do they get these outrageous figures?
Lets look at real facts shall we? Every veteran has access ot a VA hospital. Plain and simple step one.
Every hospital I have been in has a sign clearly stating that they must offer life saving proceedures regardless of income status.
The figures are estimates based on assumptions not facts or statistics.
They pull this crap out on veterans day.
Talk about a bunch of low life scum pushing an agenda. Barry Sorryassterrorist is a thug of the lowest level. this is just more proof. The mediocre are enabling scum and colaborators to this communist take over. What next? Do they really think everyone is as stupid as the average dem voter?

Thanks to our Veterans.

I had lunch today with a good friend, a Vietnam vet. As we sat in Sirloin Stockade and enjoyed our meal, our attention was drawn to a group of vets in older unforms, clearly the color guard from the morning parade. These men, proud veterans were not anything close to young. All were Korea or WW2 vets. Our speculation was what would happen at the VFW if any of the younger crowd tried to take their place in the honor guard. My money is on the old timers simply because none of the younger vets would have the audacity to dare take that honor away from them. I know I would not. My name is on a plaque some where along with the names of several hundred warriors brave. I feel humbled, knowing how small my contribution was to be named with men who have won the silver star, earned a purple heart, or gave their last full measure.

Consider now the words of SSG Barry Sadler.

What is the badge of courage?
What makes men fight and die?
What is the badge of courage,
Over which brave men try?

Well, its a simple little thing we wear,
But a thing not just anyone can bear.
you must study and learn and work and earn
the right to the badge of courage.

What is the badge of courage?
Its sweat and blood and tears.
What is th badge of courage?
Its the work, of many, years.

Its a thousand purple hearts
For which our blood is shed
Our story is writ in histories scroll
In bright bright lines of red.
And its the Medal of Honor.

What is the badge of courage?
Well, if you don't know now, I can't tell you.

NEVER EVER EVER FORGET!

Happy Birthday MARINES!

Coming from a family with strong military traditions, but no brand loyalty, we have quite a few jarheads in the gene pool. 234 years ago the Marine Corps was started in a bar of all places. The Marines have been keeping our shores safe for all that time, and endangering the shores of all who would opose us, and the dives, watering holes and youthful innocense of the women of those who would befriend us.
Our Marines have served us well in war and in peace. Many of them have given their last full measure, and tonight I salute all of you. and tonight, may you end up in a bar, among friends, and enjoy the thanks of a grateful nation.

Buh Bye Bastard!

In the words of the singing legend, Johnny Cash:

Well they're building a gallows outside my cell I've got 25 minutes to go
And the whole town's waitin' just to hear me yell I've got 24 minutes to go
Well they gave me some beans for my last meal I've got 23 minutes to go
But nobody asked me how I feel I've got 22 minutes to go
Well I sent for the governor and the whole dern bunch with 21 minutes to go
And I sent for the mayor but he's out to lunch I've got 20 more minutes to go
Then the sheriff said boy I gonna watch you die got 19 minutes to go
So I laughed in his face and I spit in his eye got 18 minutes to go
Now hear comes the preacher for to save my soul with 13 minutes to go
And he's talking bout' burnin' but I'm so cold I've 12 more minutes to go
Now they're testin' the trap and it chills my spine 11 more minutes to go
And the trap and the rope aw they work just fine got 10 more minutes to go
Well I'm waitin' on the pardon that'll set me free with 9 more minutes to go
But this is for real so forget about me got 8 more minutes to go
With my feet on the trap and my head on the noose got 5 more minutes to go
Won't somebody come and cut me loose with 4 more minutes to go
I can see the mountains I can see the skies with 3 more minutes to go
And it's to dern pretty for a man that don't wanna die 2 more minutes to go
I can see the buzzards I can hear the crows 1 more minute to go
And now I'm swingin' and here I go-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!

By the time this posts, John Allen Muhammad should be dead. hell, he should have been dead in 2003. John will find out tonight that islam is a lie. There will not be 72 virgins waiting for him, just eternal torment. You get to choose what you do in life, just not the consequences.

Happiest states are wealthy and tollerant?

This is just one more crazy article in the "we'll tell you what to think" category. lets be real here. California is in their top ten. The state is a financial nightmare. And tollerant? The homosexuals are the most intollerant bunch you will likely find. They are angry because people don't see things their way. They will be first to tell you that the number one state, Utah is full of intollerant mormons. Sheesh, what a pack of garbage.
I can understand Minnesota making the list, They are happy folk up there. they have never known a winter without minus 20 kelvin temperatures, and 200 feet of snow, so have no idea what easy living could be. Of course, if you love to ice fish, its perfect. I caught over two hundred pounds of ice last time I went, and I didn't even bait my hook.
I guess maybe I hate being fed BS, and that article was full of it.

Muslim murderer of Washington to get his

John Muhammed will get the needle. Maybe his liar could have bolstered his claim of mental illness or defect by pointing out that John is an islamist thug. Seriously, 72 virgins? Next people will actually believe in the easter bunny.

A Korean Red Neck? whodathunkit!

If it takes you 950 tries to pass the written part of the drivers test, you might be a redneck.

To be honest though, the average redneck gives up after three, assuming he can count that high, and just drives anyway.

Allahu Akbar = a lie fubar

The media are spinning faster then a child's gyroscope on Radical islamist Nidal Malik Hasan. That this extremist is a home grown terrorist makes it all the worse. Some one must be preaching hate from the pulpit besides Reverend Wright.

I and a lot of bloggers have spent a fair amount of pixels condemning Wright. In his defense, no one from Trinity UCC has gone on a killing rampage screaming Jesus made me do this.

The media are trying to twist this. Face it folks, the Koran says for them to hunt us infidels down and slay us. This is not some obscure text, this is in the Koran. Their Imams read it and harp on it. Weak minded people buy into this Bullshit and look what happens. Thirteen Americans dead, more wounded, Units preparing for deployment disrupted. Its one thing to take casualties in battle, another to take them here at home.

We can lay part of the blame for this squarely at the feet of George W Bush. This Islamist was in the military through out most of his tenure. It was under his watch that the PC Bs regarding islam as a religion of peace was reestablished in the wake of 9-11. Islam is a hate filled pack of lies foisted on us by a terrorist cult. CARE has been discredited as has nearly every organization in America preaching that Islam is peaceful. This is a super FUBAR on the part of our military and our government.

Its time to move on. We will bury our dead, but this demands vengeance. We can't kill em all, we don't need to kill em all. What we need to do is set an example. No mercy for this asshole. He is going to hell. There is no heaven for muslims. Execute him in the most abominable way possible. If he had accomplices, execute them as well.

No more compassion for radical muzzies. On the battle field or back home, if they are preaching hate, practicing hate, meet hate with love and put them out of their misery. Love em to death.

How does a radical muslim get into the Army?

The short answer is they don't. This is still one more bit of proof that islam is a religion of evil. Their satanic verses tell them to kill or enslave all infidels, you and me included. When people finally wake up to that fact, we can start solving the problem.
I do not advocate killing them all. What we need to do though is take scum like Nidal Malik Hasan and execute them in a way that is against islam. Take this scum bucket, tie him to a post inside of a pen. Turn hogs into the pen. slaughter the hogs, and pour the blood over him. Force morsels cut from the hogs down his throat. Then take bullets, dip them in the pig blood and shoot him with them. Finally, dig a pit, toss half of the hog parts in, toss him in, then the rest of the hogs. Then let wild dogs consume the pile.
Film the entire thing, and broadcast the vids on Al Jazeeras frequency all over the arab world. As far as I'm concerned, do the same thing to every prisoner at GITMO as well.

A lot of political votes to watch

With all the fuss about governors in Virginia and New Jersey, and the New York 23, one election issue that has been missed is the gay marriage vote in Maine. That this has been over looked is amazing to me. It was a hot bed issue in California last election. It was big in the news when The supreme injustices of the court in Massiveclueless forced it down peoples throats as well.

That's right, I don't support gay marriage. Here's why.

Marriage is a fundamental religious issue. Marriage is a church ceremony, and in some churches regarded as a sacrament. The constitution specifically guarantees freedom of religion and says the government cannot touch religious issues.

Marriage became a political issue when the government decided to put the squeeze on the Mormon church. It was then the feds forced marriage from its rightful realm inside of churches into the political spectrum. That was wrong and is still wrong.

What am I saying? The government, all government needs to get out of the marriage issue entirely. return it to its rightful realm, the church. If a church wants to allow homosexual marriage, it is their business. Likewise, if a church wants to allow plural marriage, it should be nobodies business but the church's. Last, divorce should also be constrained inside the church. if a couple wants a divorce, it should be the decision of the church. This will never happen. Divorce is big business for the liars err lawyers.

Scum in the New York republican party.

So Scozzafava has dropped out, good! What does a republican candidate do when they wisely withdraw from the race? Well, it seems Scuzzy is backing the democrat. Well, it makes sense, She was way further to the left. What she was doing on the republican ticket is beyond me. I don't care who the rank and file folks are, but when you assend to any elected office and turn out to have views closer to the opposition, then you belong there, and the party decision makers have no business spending dollars on you.
Republican leadership is AWOL. When they have tried to become centrist they have lost and lost big. It is only when the republicans stay conservative that the rank and file rally to them.
In 2008 people saw two candidates who appeared to be centrist. They opted for the dem because they remembered that Worthless Willie was somewhat centrist. It didn't help that Mccain was a wishywash. When he got the nod, I backed him 100% but he was nearly my last pick for a presidential hopeful. That race came down to chosing the evil of two lessers. it looks like America picked the evil.
New York, don't repeat the mistakes of 2008. you cannot claim ignorance now, back the conservative.

Redneck joke for a Friday

A Nebraska Redneck was making his first visit to a hospital where his teenage son was about to have an operation.

Watching the doctor's every move, he asked, "What's that?"

The doctor explained, "This is an anesthetic. After he gets this he won't know a thing."

"Save your time, Doc," exclaimed the man. "He don't know nothing now."

The bullpup 500

O.F. Mossberg has been cranking out shotguns for ninety years. The model 500, first introduced in 1960 is probably the most reliable shotgun ever produced. it is the only shotgun to meet the strident Mil-Spec 3443E standard. Mossberg has offered many variants of this reliable weapon, and tonight's feature is the Bullpup. First offered in 1987, it was designed for police and special security needs. That it was discontinued is a travesty.

Shotguns are excellent weapons for home protection and other various needs. Floyd Reagan, a Minnesota DNR game warden swears there is no animal on the North American continent that cannot be taken with one. Floyd would know. When assigned in Alaska patrolling for poachers, Floyd selected a 12ga as his weapon to carry. On one foot patrol he encountered a Kodiak bear. The bear wanted Floyd for lunch. The charge of shot nearly severed the bears head. I'd just as soon not let them get that close.

Many people today are opting for pistol grip shotguns. They look bad ass. They also shoot like crap! A shoulder stock offers a steady support for your shots. Whether one opts for a solid stock, collapsing stock or folding stock, in my opinion, they are a must. Heavy shot, or slugs play hell on the wrists. The extra length may be a bit of a problem in close quarters, but in my opinion is well worth it.

The 500 Bullpup has the advantage of a full length barrel, plenty of spare rounds, a shoulder stock, and a neat small package. The action is the same as any other 500. The stock contains a transfer bar that fits to the original trigger.

Shotgun performance is also outstanding. A 12ga shotgun slug generates more muzzle energy then a 30-06 150 grain round. Its down range performance is better then a 30-30, and modern rounds remain accurate beyond 150 yards.

Much can be debated regarding buckshot. A 2 3/4 12 ga round holds eight or nine pellets 00 depending on manufacture, and is the equivalent of firing a short bust from a submachine gun. Down range performance drops as the spread of the pellets soon reaches the point where only a few hit the target. I prefer #4 buck. Twenty seven pellets vs only nine increases the probability of multiple hits at extended ranges. Shot size drops from .33 to .24 inches resulting in a pellet that is nearly 1/3 the weight, but with the increase in number results in a somewhat heavier overall load and increased hit potential.

12 ga ammo is plentiful, especially compared to some of the more popular rifle calibers. Shotgun ammo is also easier to reload. even a 10% variation will still shoot within parameters since accuracy is not pinpoint. In a last ditch situation, almost anything can be used for projectiles from gravel to glass.

Mossberg has been my shotgun of choice for thirty years. I know that many of you are fans of Remington, Benelli, or Winchester. Its all a matter of what you like. I have never had a Mossberg fail to fire, and some of mine have been heavily abused. Mossbergs are low cost, high quality, and not a lot of flash. The 500 series has been around for nearly fifty years with only minor changes, and is second to the 870 in total sales.

The Mossberg 500 bullpup truly fits the bill for an all around defense weapon. Its size is about the same as a pistol grip model, it has a full length barrel, and handling is good. Sadly, Mossberg has no announced plans to reintroduce this excellent arm, and no after market manufacturers have any offerings out at the present time. I would like to see after market stocks for the Remington 870, 1100, and some of the other popular guns. I can always hope, can't I?

The Warriors Song

Awesome vid! Enjoy.

Bullet hits Lou Dobbs house?

According to American Pravda a bullet hit his house while his wife and driver were standing nearby. The claim is they heard the shot but that it did not penetrate, and fell harmlessly to the ground.
Now, I don't know about you, but this pegged my bullshit meter. Granted, they live in the country, it is small game season, and stuff like that happens once in a while, but this just aint flyin with me.
This smacks too much of the Iwacky woman whose house was hit by bullets. Remember that story?
I'm sure those on the loony left are eating it up like candy.

Redneck joke for a Saturday

An extraordinarily handsome man decided he had the responsibility to marry the perfect woman so they could produce beautiful children beyond compare.

With that as his mission he began to search for the perfect woman.

Shortly there after he met a Redneck who had three stunning ,gorgeous daughters that positively took his breath away. So he explained his mission to the Redneck and asked for permission to marry one of them.

The Redneck simply replied, "They're lookin' to get married, so you came to the right place. Look 'em over and pick the one you want."

The man dated the first daughter. The next day the Redneck asked for the man's opinion.

"Well," said the man, "she's just a weeeeee bit, not that you can hardly notice...pigeon-toed."

The Redneck nodded and suggested the man date one of the other girls; so the man went out with the second daughter.

The next day, the Redneck again asked how things went.

"Well,"the man replied, "she's just a weeeee bit, not that you can hardly tell...cross-eyed."

The Redneck nodded and suggested he date the third girl to see if things might be better. So he did.

The next morning the man rushed in exclaiming, "She's perfect, just perfect. She's the one I want to marry."

So they were wed right away. Months later the baby was born. When the man visited the nursery he was horrified: the baby was the ugliest, most pathetic human you can imagine. He rushed to his father-in-law and asked how such a thing could happen considering the beauty of the parents.

"Well," explained the Redneck... "She was just a weeeee bit, not that you could hardly tell... pregnant when you met her."

The one on the right was wide awake.

There once was a flyin troupe

A passenger haulin pilot group
They flew the latest air craft
to the air ports of our land
They were long on aeronautical ability
Folks thought they would go far
But story incompatibility led to their downfall

Well, the one on the right was wide awake
And the one on the left was not asleep
And the stewardesses were serving coffee
And some guy in the rear was a Muslim

This airborne aggregation toured the entire nation
Flyin to major cities
And never forgettin when to land
They flew with great care for safety
And soon they were the rage
But story unbelievability would soon take center stage

Well, the one on the right was in a discussion
And the one on the left said he was not
And the stewardesses offered beer and soda
And some guy in the rear hated America

Well the landing gear had retracted
A hush fell on the plane
As one hundred forty nine were gathered to fly to Minneapolis
But they didn't take their jobs seriously
And that night on the plane flight deck

As the passengers rode unknowingly
They didn't take a nap
Well, the one on the right wasn't snoring loudly
And the one on the left wasn't snoring a'tall
And the stewardesses served extra coffee
And some guy in the rear, said, "Oh dear"

Now this should be a lesson if you plan to pilot aircraft
Don't go mixin' BS with the safety of the flight
Just work on take off and landings
Fly your A320 well
And if ya go to Minneapolis don't fly off into the night

Now, the one on the left is suspended
And the one on the right might lose his job
The stewardesses are back in action
And the guy in the rear is takin a bus.

OK, maybe not my best work, but certainly not my worst either. Hey, come back! I was only joking, it is my worst, really.....

Good, Bad, or Ugly

A high speed chase ended in California when OnStar disabled the gas pedal. We can all look at this and see the good that can come from this sort of application. Most car jackings in which the police become involved turn into high speed chases and end in crashes. it is one very dangerous situation for police and the general public. I applaud this technology. I also want to issue a caution to people regarding this.
In the hands of a trust worthy government such power is nothing to fear. Our nation is no longer a totally trust worthy bunch though. We have seen voter fraud in several recent elections. We know about front groups working to steal elections by registering proxies. While everyone was laughing about registrations of daffy Duck and Porky Pig, the John Jacob Tingelheimer Schmidts variations slipped right on by.
Once a totalitarian group actually gains control, what power will they have? GM, the company offering OnStar is owned in part by the government, so if it were to happen that some evil minion got into office, he would have OnStar at his fingertips.
Big deal you say? What if you opposed the new regime? what if you spoke out in defense of the constitution? Would you be at risk? Yes you would.
When we entrust power to an honorable politician we need not fear, but the question we should ALWAYS ask is whether we would want that same power in the hands of one we did not trust.
democrats and republicans should be able to agree on this, if we can trust our own party is not the issue, but whether we can trust some one ideologically opposed to us with that same power.
Think about it.

Econ so simple a red neck could do it

Our acting president continues his war on Fox News aka faux news. Eighty companies have secumbed to preasure from Color of Communism, or is that color of change? Anyway, those companies have pledged to not advertise on Fox, specifically on Beck's program.
Are these guys nuts? Corporations know to go where the money is. If there isn't something back door in it for them, its crazy to not advertise on Beck. The guy now pulls an audience bigger then all his competition. Corporations ignoring that much potential is economic suicide, and in these unstable times add revenue is a precious comodity, dollars that cannot be wasted foolishly. People like Oberlain and Maddow are not pulling an audience. The ratings folks are showing that time and again.
In the days arround the 2002 midterms, when Yahoo had message threads with every article, it was common in the political threads to see progressives advocating Fill your cart and leave it at Walmart. it was a common theme because Walmart was supporting conservative ideals. the progressives are not flocking back to Walmart. They are still flocking to Target and the looney antics of that group.
I have spent less then $100 in Target. They refused to allow Salvation Army Bell Ringers and refused to support the USMC toys for tots drive in this area, and I believe nationally. Liberals love em for those reasons, anti-GOD and anti military. My bucks can go else where.
It pains me to not shop at Walmart. they have been a big supporter of the troops, scouting and the Salvation Army. Their decision to cave to a thug army of communist wannabes angers me enough that I am staying away.
Its time for the advertising exec at these corporations to step back and take a serious look at what they are being bulldogged into. Attacks on a free press should never be tollerated. I may not like what CNN and MSNBC say, or how they chose to report, but I'll defend their right to do it.

Redneck Girls prayer

Now I lay me down to nut
I hope my man can get it up
If I don't come before it ends
I'll go next door and fuck his friends.

dang I wish that gal was my neighbor.

Liberalism Then

Flipping channels tonight, and something caught my attention. This from the Military Channel. At the height of the Korean War, Truman relieved MacArthur. We all know that, but how often do we ponder the consequences of that action? MacArthur wanted to attack China. More correctly, counter attack. UN forces led by the United States Marines had driven the North Koreans back to the Yalu River. At that point, Chinese forces entered the war on orders from Mao. US forces were thrown back, and a war that seemed just about over was reignited. Chances for a united Korea ended then.
The United States had options that could have guaranteed a united Korea but chose not to exercise them. Fears were that any decisive action would escalate into WW3. For a generation soured by WW1 and then WW2, the idea of continued conflict was not exciting.
Many things were affected by that decision.
Mao and his regime were still in their infancy. It is possible that a small nuclear involvement could have forced them to their knees. As it is, 50 to 70 million people perished under his oppression. North Korea remains the most oppressive nation in the world with the possible exception of Cuba.
Could all out war have prevented the holocaust that happened in China? We will never know. I personally think it would have. China did not have industrial might. What they had was masses of humanity. In the battles of Korea their first few waves of troops had weapons. the subsequent waves picked up weapons of the dead and continued on. It was the equivalent of the Banzai charges that the Japanese did. How long would the Communist regime have lasted? I do not know. The entire country was not communist. in fact it was a perilous regime. That is why the slaughtered millions, to retain control.
Korea started a domino effect that led to wars in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and threatened Thailand. US reluctance to commit emboldened Communists in Cuba and Central America. those conflicts have killed additional millions.
In the end, we have won, some what. Russia teeters on the edge. While the wall is down, lingering trends toward totalitarianism remain. Our current president has backed down from Russia on the missile defense in Poland. How is that a threat? defensive equipment a threat? All it threat ends to do is stop aggression. It is not aggressive. that shield wold also have protected Russia from attacks should Iran ever turn aggressive toward them. Given that the Russians have a disdain for any religion, Islam is not on their short list of friends. people need to remember that. The atheism of Russia is as much an affront to Islam as Christianity.
Wise American generals have rightly viewed Totalitarianism for the evil it is. Patton, when he met the Soviet Army reported to SHAEF and asked for permission to continue the attack. Mac Arthur likewise wanted to press the fight against evil. Evil won. When good men do nothing, evil wins.
Remember that when you consider the consequences of your vote in the polls. Will you let evil win? The present administration has members who adore Mao, love Chi, and revere Castro. Do you get the picture? LETS NOT LET EVIL WIN.

The AR-15 on Steroids

IN the early years of the Vietnam war, the thinking heads of the Kennedy administration decided that the military needed to upgrade their weapons to a still smaller caliber. The progression has been a long process. During, and immediately after the revolution, there was no true standardization of caliber. Since each weapon was hand crafted, variations in caliber were common, and each soldier carried a bullet mold with him. This practice remained into the (un)Civil War. The earliest weapons often ran to calibers approaching .75, with .72, or 12 gauge being very common. the .50 Kentucky, common among modern rendezvous's was not a popular caliber. Since rifle tech was in its infancy, high chamber pressure was dangerous. therefore, to achieve power, a larger projectile was used. During the Civil War, caliber dropped to .58 for the Springfield rifles as rifling and the Minie ball brought advances to the battle field. Other calibers included the 56-56 Spencer, .577 Enfield .52 Sharps, and a host of others. Improvements meant longer range, increased accuracy, and more power.

Advances immediately after the war brought the Springfield 1873 in 45-70 to the military, and its companion, the 45-55-405 cavalry carbine, famous for its failures at the battle of Greasy Grass.

The next step, and again a step down in caliber was the 30-40 Krag series of Rifles from 1892 to 1907. This was the first round developed for smokeless powder. It was a rimmed cartridge, the last used by the military.

It was replaced beginning in 1903 by the 1903 Springfield in 30-06. The 30-06 and 30-40 were balistically similar, but the design of the 06 case improved function and reliability of the weapon.

The 1903 was supplemented in WW1 by a design called the 1917 which was a modification of the Enfield pattern rifles built under contract by Remington and Winchester for the Brits. This adaptation was a well built weapon and was actually the mainstay for our forces in Europe.

1932 saw the advent of the Garrand. No change in caliber, just an automatic weapon, the first for a battle rifle.

WW2 revealed many shortcoming in the Garrand. They are an awesome piece, but the enbloc clips left much to be desired. Tests showed also that the 30-06 cartridge was far more powerful then was needed for combat. That's their theory anyway. My theory is that if the round does not blow the adversary limb from limb, and kill the nearest soldiers on his flank and rear, shoot him again just to be safe.

The end result of all that testing was the 308, or 7.62x51, a round very similar to the 06, but shorter. Improvements in powder made it balistically equal to the 06.

In 1964 the Army again shrunk the cartridge with the adoption of the M-16 and its companion M193/m196 round. This dropped the caliber again to 5.56mm or .223 inches. This change had advantages and disadvantages. One advantage was the amount of ammo a grunt could carry. 210 rounds became the standard load, seven thirty round mags.

The M-16 served for well over 40 years despite its short comings. Army tacticians had determined that the limited range and reduced power were not disadvantages. the theory was that a wounded enemy removed three soldiers from the Field of battle as two were needed to carry their buddy to medical aide. Wounding was also for some strange reason deemed humane. I say well, see comment above.
The fighting in Afghanistan has brought a renewed approach to the age old argument. Given the battle field conditions seen in Afghanistan, it became clear that a round with better range and power was again needed.
Enter the 6.8 Special Purpose Cartridge. Using a round very similar to the 5.56 NATO Remington was able to deliver increased punch in the same package. Bullet weight jumps from 69 grains to 115 grains. This resulted in a jump of nearly 25% in energy.
Field tests in actual combat proved this cartridge to be worthy. troops I have met who have used it in combat say it is a most effective round. Also note that the military has significantly faster rounds then what Remington offers online.
Tonight's offering is an Olympic Arms rendition in the 6.8 SPC caliber. It sports a BSA cats eye scope which is a low light illuminated reticule in 3.5-10 power. This is one of my collection of AR-15s. We can call this the Might Mattel on steroids.

Redneck Joke for a Friday

You know you are a redneck if your woman can chew tobacco while giving you a blowjob and still know which to spit and which to swallow.

Obma wins the NoBalls Pizza Prize

Lets be honest, the award has been meaningless for the last thirty years and more. Now we must ask ourselves, Carter redux, Carter lite, or Carter was no where near as bad as this joke(r).
To his credit, Carter did negotiate a peace deal in the middle east, one which the Israelis have repeatedly broken with their retaliation against Palistidiot pranks such as rocket attacks and bombs.
And if the above statement needs a sarc tag, Y.O.U. A.R.E. A.N. I.D.I.O.T. or a Charles Johnson wannabe.

Not your average Marlin

Marlin has made several versions of their famous Glenfield 60. Beginning in 1960, Marlin introduced the world to microgroove technology in the form of a little fast repeating tube fed .22 rifle. The rifle was an instant success. Over the decades, Marlin has offered several modifications of this versitile arm. One of these, the Marlin Glennfiend 75C wandered through my life back in 1985. I love Marlins, but I prefer the mag feed. It has some liability in that it only accomodates seven rounds, or ten in the newest versions, but the luxury of a fast reload out weighs the higher capacity in my opinion. I had modified several 60s by the time this beauty entered my life, and had a fair idea of how I was going to approach this. I like bullpups. Since first encountering one in the hands of a French soldier, they have intrigued me. My first conversion was a model 60 that had been used as a club by an irate wife, not mine, who narrowly missed her husbands head with the swing. It shattered the stock and gave the barrel a slight bend. No matter, it still shot. A replacement stock cost as much as the rifle back then, so it was pretty much throw away. I go it for parts, then decided to make a stock. Now, I'm a fair hand at wood working, but even I must admit the first one turned out aweful. I routed the barrel groove freehand, not good. It perked interest though, and I sold it. Immediately after that, I went arround to pawn shops and picked up a few more orders. A little experimentation led to several jigs to speed production and I began making the stocks and a retrofit kit.

The trigger is the original. It is moved forward, and a transfer bar fitted to create the system. As you can see, the original gun was a tube fed model. Conversions cost me arround ten dollars back then.

The downfall for these was a scope mount. In order to use the gun, you had to crank your head arround into an impossible position, or use it like a pistol. I acquired the scope with an SKS rifle. It is a short Leapers 6X32 set on adapter risers from Cabella's.

This is the only 75C I modified. Maybe someday Marlin will be interested in an agreement and we can get this badboy onto the regular market.

10 Rules for Living

The ten rules for living by Kent Keith
1. People are illogical, unreasonable, and self centered. Love them anyway.
2. If you do good, people will acuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
3. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.
4. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
5. Honesty and Frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.
6. The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds. Think big anyway.
7. People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
8. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
9. People really need help, but may attack you if you do help them. Help people anyway.
10. Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.
Keith was a Rhodes Scolar at Harvard when he wrote these maxims. They have been quoted by legislators, politicians and pundits the world over, attributed to Mother Theresa, Ann Landers and many other great speakers. Consider these simple truths, please aply them in your life, pass them on through word and action, and remember that the evil of the world that seeks to put people down can only be countered by the ultimate good of a loving and caring GOD.

According to the Denver Post, Rick Standloff who backed several liberal or is that libel candidates now faces trial under the stolen valor act. Standloff, who posed as Rick Duncan and claimed to be a Marine captain wounded in Iraq, was exposed as a phoney when real vets who joined his organization saw through the lies. Standloff claims mental impairment. I guess its true, he voted dimicrat.

A sorry state of Afairs 6

Jake was dying. His wife sat at the bedside. He looked up and said weakly: 'I have something I must confess.' 'There's no need to, 'his wife replied. 'No,' he insisted, 'I want to die in peace. I slept with your sister, your best friend, her best friend, and your mother!' 'I know,' she replied. 'Now just rest and let the poison work.'

A sorry state of Affairs 5

A man walked into a cafe, went to the bar and ordered a beer. 'Certainly, Sir, that'll be one cent.' 'One Cent?' the man exclaimed. He glanced at the menu and asked: 'How much for a nice juicy steak and a bottle of wine?' 'A nickel,' the barman replied. 'A nickel?' exclaimed the man. 'Where's the guy who owns this place?' The bartender replied: 'Upstairs, with my wife.' The man asked: 'What's he doing upstairs with your wife?' The bartender replied: 'The same thing I'm doing to his business down here.'

A sorry state of Affairs 4

A woman was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband opening the front door. 'Hurry,' she said, 'stand in the corner.' She rubbed baby oil all over him, then dusted him with talcum powder. 'Don't move until I tell you,' she said. 'Pretend you're a statue.' 'What's this?' the husband inquired as he entered the room. 'Oh it's a statue,' she replied. 'The Smiths bought one and I liked it so I got one for us, too.' No more was said, not even when they went to bed. Around 2 AM the husband got up, went to the kitchen and returned with a sandwich and a beer. 'Here,' he said to the statue, have this. I stood like that for two days at the Smiths and nobody offered me a damned thing.'

A sorry state of Affairs 3

A mortician was working late one night. He examined the body of Mr. Schwartz, about to be cremated, and made a startling discovery. Schwartz had the largest private part he had ever seen! 'I'm sorry Mr. Schwartz,' the mortician commented, 'I can't allow you to be cremated with such an impressive private part. It must be saved for posterity.' So, he removed it, stuffed it into his briefcase, and took it home. 'I have something to show you won't believe,' he said to his wife, opening his briefcase. 'My God!' the wife exclaimed, 'Schwartz is dead!'

Chicago and the Olympics

On many occasions winning the Olympic bid has been anything but profitable for a community. All the construction and preparation straps them, and they rarely recoup the investment. There have been exceptions, we all know that. Los Angeles turned a handsome profit, but they were already equipped for the mission. They had stadiums and sports arenas in place, and a fair amount of transient housing ie motels hotels visitors centers etc to handle the influx. That's not to say Chicago isn't. Since they have multiple sports teams, they have the stadiums. it is also a huge metro area.
What needs to be considered is the preparation and the timing. We are in a severe economic slump. Chicago and the state of Illinois are heavily taxed already. The money to invest in such an undertaking must come from some where. That means more taxes, revenue bonds, and federal dollars ie more taxes on everyone.
If Chicago wins the bid, and the leaders there begin building on a massive scale, that can only mean hardship for Chicago's tax payers.
Lets hope the bid goes somewhere with sane civic minded leaders who respect their base.

A sorry state of Affairs 2

A middle-aged couple had two beautiful daughters but always talked about having a son. They decided to try one last time for the son they always wanted. The wife got pregnant and delivered a healthy baby boy. The joyful father rushed to the nursery to see his new son. He was horrified at the ugliest child he had ever seen. He told his wife: 'There's no way I can be the father of this baby. Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered! Have you been fooling around behind my back?' The wife smiled sweetly and replied: 'No, not this time!'

A sorry state of Affairs

A married man was having an affair with his secretary. One day they went to her place and made love all afternoon. Exhausted, they fell asleep and woke up at 8 PM. The man hurriedly dressed and told his lover to take his shoes outside and rub them in the grass and dirt. He put on his shoes and drove home. 'Where have you been?' his wife demanded. 'I can't lie to you,' he replied, 'I'm having an affair with my secretary. We had sex all afternoon.' She looked down at his shoes and said: 'You lying bastard! You've been playing golf!'

Fighting on the Temple Mount

Moderate muslims attacked a group of tourists to the Temple Mount today. Several Police escorting the group received minor injuries.
The day is fast approaching when Israel cleans the mount and rids it of the muslim hoard and their foul mosque.
Israel will have to step up as a world leader. Barry Soetoro sure isn't.

Four officers wounded in crazy violence.

First, I'm glad to see Police clearing drug dealers and thieves off the streets. The problems that come with drugs are what bring the robbers, thieves and swindlers out.
Second, it is tragic that four officers were wounded in the raid. Police work is dangerous. a simple traffic stoop can lead to a fatal altercation. charging the door of a suspected armed assailant is not my idea of a fun time.
Third, it could have been done a better way. a criminal in his home is on familiar turf. They often have battle plans of some sort as to what they will do, and how they will react. it has been sixteen years since Agents of the ATF stormed the gates at Wacko Texas. That worked out real well!
Officers today could take a page from Serpico. He dressed as a vagrant, a drunk, and camped in the hall of his targets building. when the guy came out of his apartment, the fourth or fifth time, he was no longer on guard against this seemingly harmless fool and Serpico was able to arrest him with out incident.
Almost any perp will leave his lair once or twice a day. There is no reason for a no knock unless human life is at risk. The perps will be less well armed out on the street. Be honest, its hard to hide an AK under sweat pants. They will not be on familiar ground, and a safe take down can be accomplished.
With no knocks, mistakes happen. Its rare, but they do. Officers in Florida once bust in on an elderly couple in the middle of the night. He defended his home as any one would do. he died for his valiant efforts.
Any one can kick in a door and yell COPS! it happened in Texas when a girl was kidnapped by drug thugs.
I want our police to behave in an honorable way. We don't need jackbooted thuggery to police America. Smarter policing is the key. Come on guys, you are bright fellows. Life is a chess game, not a brawl. Besides, with all the drugs the typical thug uses, they only have a few brain cells to combat you with. I want you alive so I can insult you when you deserve it, not dead so then I'd never dare speak ill.
