Unions will have to survive on their merits

Indiana today became the 23rd state to pass a right to work law. While this does not spell doom for unions, it means the noose is tightening. Unions will be forced to live on theri merits, and when they offer no benefit as most now fail to do, they will die off. So the choice is become relevant or extinct. My hope is for extinct.
I worked for en employer for years where there was preasure to unionize. The company had several union plants, and they were all high cost low production dumps. One plant booted the union. The following year productivity increased so much that the employees got a near 10% profit sharing bonus. That never happened when the union had control as workers were prevented from exceeding production quotas.
Unions have a place. Saddly it is most often among thugs and despots as in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
Good decision Indiana. Prepare for the fight in court and in the low brow of election recalls. The unions don't take assaults on their thug control with out a fight.

A recall in Indiana won't happen. The Governor is up against his term limit this year and elections this fall make any effort to recall legislators a waste of time and money.

Speaking of money, one of the added bonuses of RTW is unions have less money to spend in the political arena. Some may say this paves the way for more corporate influence, but in reality corporations generally donate to both parties while on the other hand unions typically only donate to Democrats.
